User Text 1 Act II, Rikiya in the house of Honzo and his daughter Konami. Tonase, wife of Honzo, chief councillor to Wakasanosuke, watches from behind the yellow screen while her daughter, Konami receives a message for Wakasanosuke from Hangan. The messenger is Rikiya, Konami's betrothed, who brings the message that Wakasanosuke and Hangan have been summoned to the palace before dawn on the following day. In the background, Wakasanosuke discusses his plan to avenge himself on the evil Moronao with his well-meaning, but misguided servant Honzo.
