Giovanni (Zuan) di Pasqualino Boldù
(active 1454–1475)
Giovanni Boldù was a Venetian painter and medallist, although nothing definite is known about his paintings. Boldù described himself as a painter on his medals (as in this medal). He seems to have been a student of engraved gems, utilizing a wiry sytle and showing a familiarity with Paduan sculpture. His work is distinguished by a wiry precision of style and a predilection for classical subjects.
